The Counter UAS Platform is a state-of-the-art protection vehicle designed to counter unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in complex and dynamic operational scenarios. Based on the Toyota Land Cruiser 300, the system combines maximum mobility with comprehensive ballistic and explosive protection, as well as a fully integrated drone defence solution.
The vehicle has been specially developed for modern threat scenarios in which drones are increasingly being used as a tactical asset – for example, against critical infrastructure, security forces or mobile units.
At the heart of the platform is a powerful, fully integrated Counter-UAS solution that covers the entire chain of action:
- Real-time drone detection
- Classification and situational awareness
- Tracking and target assignment
- Targeted neutralisation of the threat
The sensor-to-effector chain is directly integrated into the vehicle and enables an immediate response to aerial threats without external infrastructure.
A specially configured operator workstation inside the vehicle forms the heart of the control system. Via a monitor and joystick, the operator receives a consolidated situational picture and can initiate defence measures intuitively and precisely. The control logic is based on current counter-UAS systems and maximises situational control even under time pressure and in high-stress operational situations.
Effective jamming and defence technology
The integrated drone defence system comprises powerful electronic countermeasures for neutralising unmanned aerial targets:
- Coverage of relevant frequency bands (433 / 868 / 915 MHz, 2.4 / 5.1 / 5.8 GHz and GNSS bands)
- Targeted jamming via directional antennas with high antenna gain
- Minimisation of collateral effects through focused radiation
- Optional omnidirectional antennas for wide-area defence against multiple targets
- Multi-channel, individually controllable transmitter units
- Control via joystick or software, as well as integration into existing systems
This combination enables the effective defence against small to medium-sized drone threats in a wide variety of operational scenarios.
Platform: TALOS – Toyota Land Cruiser 300
The technical basis is provided by the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 in the specially armoured TALOS configuration. The vehicle combines:
- high off-road capability and mobility
- reliable performance under demanding conditions
- adapted chassis, braking and tyre systems for the increased vehicle weight
All protection systems have been tested under realistic conditions by certified bodies and comply with international standards.
