Special recognition for Ronald Gerschewski

Ronald Gerschewski, managing partner of the WELP Group and managing director of IndiKar Individual Karosseriebau GmbH from Wilkau-Haßlau, has been presented with the August Horch Honorary Award for his services to automotive engineering in Saxony.

This award is bestowed on people who have rendered outstanding services to the development of the automotive industry and its suppliers in the Saxony region. This year marks the second time that the award has been presented, courtesy of the Chemnitz Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the AMZ (Saxony Automotive Supplier Network), DRH Vermögensverwaltung GmbH and August Horch Museum Zwickau GmbH. The award ceremony itself took place on 5 October during the Automotive Forum Zwickau, the international annual congress of the automotive industry.

Outstanding and multifaceted commitment

Born in Berlin, Ronald Gerschewski has been supporting automotive suppliers in the south-west Saxony region for years and is committed to the development of new technologies and products. What’s more, he also holds a number of voluntary positions including vice president of the Zwickau regional chamber of the Chemnitz Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

It is fair to say that Ronald Gerschewski’s life has revolved around the field of automotive manufacturing for quite some time, having completed an apprenticeship at the Ludwigsfelde truck plant and then studied automotive engineering at the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau. After gaining professional experience at MZ Zschopau and Sachsenring Zwickau, he went on to become managing director of IndiKar GmbH, now part of the WELP Group, in 2003. A number of new buildings were added to the site in 2010, 2017 and 2022. Indikar develops and manufactures individual bodywork, interiors and complete vehicles, with protective equipment on request. The company is also a system supplier for a variety of well-known car manufacturers.

The WELP Group is a specialist for special protection solutions, as well as high-quality injection moulding tools and components made of plastic and metal.
