"GMHütte Energy Aware": As part of this initiative, energy scouts were again trained in cooperation with the Osnabrück - Emsland - Grafschaft Bentheim Chamber of Industry and Commerce, who are intended to help companies to establish energy awareness and energy efficiency in the long term.
Tasks such as securing the energy supply and climate protection present us with major social challenges. Georgsmarienhütte is also taking up this challenge in order to continue to offer attractive living and location conditions for everyone in the future.
There is potential for optimizing energy consumption everywhere, in companies, public institutions and private households. A lot can be achieved through structural measures or optimization in the areas of lighting, heating, compressed air and air conditioning.
But that's not all -the energy transition begins in the mind. It's not primarily a technical task, you also have to start with your own behavior.
The trainees Pia Glosemeyer, Xenia Knuth, Darian Kuhlenbeck, Adrian Krull, David Niemann, Kai Plassmeyer and Valentino Wörmann took part at the project for Farmingtons Automotive GmbH.
Their project involved saving energy costs through the use of renewable energies (photovoltaics). The trainees were supported by the Purchasing, Building Services, Controlling, Human Resources and Energy & Environmental Management departments.
In various workshops, the trainees were taught the basics of project and energy management as well as the handling of measuring equipment for energy measurement. As in previous years, the workshop on “Project Management and Communication” was held by Farmingtons Automotive GmbH.
The trainingof the energy scouts ended on March 2nd, 2022, after a project phase of almost six months with the presentation of the projects to a committee. In this year, the project was presented for the first time via video conference due to the corona pandemic.
We would like to take this opportunity to once again congratulate our new energy scouts on their victory and their great performance. At the same time, we would like to thank everyone involved for their active, professional and motivating support throughout the entire project.
