The WELP GROUP, an internationally active specialist for special automotive solutions and armored vehicles, is taking a significant strategic step: With the acquisition of a majority stake by regional entrepreneurs and the relocation of the group's headquarters from Lower Saxony to Wilkau-Haßlau, the company is actively shaping its future from the Zwickau region.
Under the new shareholder structure, Ronald Gerschewski, managing director of IndiKar Individual Karosseriebau GmbH, is taking over as majority owner of the WELP GROUP. He is supported by Uwe Schneider, managing director of AKE Systemtechnik GmbH from Reinsdorf, who, as the second shareholder, brings valuable expertise in the field of automation to the company. The strategic realignment is intended to make the group even more resilient to market changes and tap into growth potential in the southwestern Saxony region. With the relocation of its headquarters to Wilkau-Haßlau, the WELP GROUP is writing an encouraging regional success story: The decision sends a clear message to Zwickau as a business location and at the same time strengthens the bond with local employees, partners, and customers. For the more than 800 employees, especially at IndiKar's largest location with around 320 employees, the realignment offers planning security and prospects in an increasingly challenging market environment. In the course of the restructuring, the company's focus is shifting further toward individual special solutions with direct customer contact in view of the ongoing transformation in the automotive industry. At the same time, cooperation with traditional automobile manufacturers is being reorganized to ensure the group's future viability. The WELP GROUP is one of the leading providers in its field.
